FUNDING CRITERIA FOR THE SPAZA SHOPS AND GENERAL DEALERS SUPPORT SCHEME:

  • The shop must be managed by the owner.
  • Registration via SA SMME portal.
  • Must be buying products manufactured locally.
  • They must have a permit to trade and municipalities, if not, the Department will assist with this.
  • Must be registered with Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), if not, the Department will assist with this.
  • Must be registered with South Africa Revenue Services (SARS), if not, the Department will assist with this.
  • Must be registered with Unemployed Insurance Fund (UIF), if not, the Department will assist with this.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SPAZA SHOPS AND GENERAL DEALERS SUPPORT SCHEME:

Spaza shop owners are also able to go to their nearest Nedbank or Standard Bank branch to get assistance in completing the relevant registration and application forms.

DOCUMENTATION TO BE PROVIDED FOR THE SPAZA SHOPS AND GENERAL DEALERS SUPPORT SCHEME:

  • Must have a permit to trade issued by the municipality, if not, the Department will assist with this.
